| Contrary to many reports the music business seems to be in rude good health. Or perhaps it would be more accurate to say that there is so much good new music at the moment. Of particular interest is the way that Pop, Indie and Dance are all exchanging ideas with brisk familiarity. And that the line between experimental and mainstream seems almost non-existent.
The Spring 10 collection from Hotel Seattle reflects this new exuberance and exchange of ideas. On one hand it can be hard to date a lot of this new music as a myriad of different influences are woven into the fabric of each track. On the other, everything seems fresh and new. As always, one classic artist is featured. In this case, it is Tom Petty. His mix of American FM rock and New Wave still sound great today. www.musicconcrete.com
