Brighton is a place that’s full of fun things to do! So, we have put together a few ideas of our favourite places to visit…

The Seafront
The seafront is impressive and often called ‘London by the Sea’ because of the cool people, great shops and buzzing atmosphere.  The seafront esplanade is set down from the road so its traffic free! And here you can find shops selling local crafts, beach clothing and souvenirs.

The Palace Pier
Why not visit the pier whilst at the beach front, it’s a bit tacky but good fun none the less… You’ll also find little signs all along the Pier detailing its history.

The Royal Pavillion
In Prince George’s magical palace by the sea, enter a breathtaking and magnificent world of sparkling chandeliers, golden domed ceilings and exotic dragons, lions and serpents!  There’s lots to see and explore…

Get arty at O’Contemporary
Visit one of the UK’s top contemporary art spaces, showcasing national and international artists. The current exhibition, is displaying a mixed show of artists including graffiti's pioneers, Tinho, Pato and Flip's.  All three artists have a huge international following and are highly acclaimed in their native Brazil.

Brighton Museum and Art Gallery
This museum reopened in May 2002 and there are new galleries jam packed full of things you wouldn’t expect to see in a museum like a huge chair that looks like a pair of lips!

When? Open: Mon – Sat 10am – 5pm, Sunday 2 – 5pm. Closed Wednesdays and most Bank Holidays

Brighton Komedia
Right in the middle of North Laine you’ll find Brighton Komedia a trendy theatre voted one of the best family friendly venues in the South East.  Held on the first Saturday of every month, the theatre hosts a comedy club especially for kids!

The Brighton Sea Life Centre
Brighton aquarium is one of the oldest aquarium’s in the country…offers a fun and educational day out whatever the weather.  It’s housed to over 150 species and 57 displays; you can even stroke the rays and go through the shark tunnel if you’re hard enough!

National Working Museum of Penny Slot Machines
Visit the UK's only public vintage penny arcade with more than 50 old machines dating from 1895 and 1945.  Games include strength testers and fortune-tellers. All games are played with old pennies, bought from a vintage booth.

Brighton Toy and Model Museum
Underneath the arches at Brighton Railway Station you will find a treasure trove of Toys and Models...
There are over 10,000 toys and models on display with a priceless model train collection and many period antique toys.

Drusillas Zoo Park
Drusillas has been voted the no. 1 tourist attraction in the South East and is a great day out.  It has a good mix of creatures including meerkats, owls, penguins and otters. There is also a children’s play area, train rides and a café.

Mini Golf/Pitch and Putt…
Take a 5 minute drive down the cost to a lovely 18 hole pitch overlooked by the distinctive black smocked Rottingdean windmill. It’s one of the best miniature golf courses in the South of England!

Take a wonder round the Lanes…
Brighton has some really cool shops all in one area called ‘The Lanes’…
It’s full of interesting and quirky shops well worth a visit.  We have picked a few below but there are lots more to explore, just grab a map from reception and go…

Angel World, 5 Brighton Place - Angels, fairies and all things magical and mystical including beautiful figurines…
Mariposa Masks 6 Brighton Place - A beautiful collection of handmade masks made of papier mache, silks and feathers.
Ollie & Nic, 56 Market Street – A collection of accessories in a shop painted in candy floss pink with a huge glittering chandelier!
Charlie Barley, 17 Meeting House Lane - Kids clothes, shoes and accessories all a little bit quirky, unusual & fun!
The Lanes Armoury, 26 Meeting House Lane - A three storey 16th century building selling items from Suits of Armour to Samurai Weapons! Well worth a visit…
The Animal House, 12 Bond Street - A fun and funky animal themed gift shop – if they haven't got the animal you want they’ll try to source it for you!
Air Born Kites, 42 Gardner Street - 100’s of different kites plus, they offer kite lessons
Lush, 41 East St - Fresh, handmade bath and beauty products that smell amazing!
Rolys Fudge Pantry, 9A Kensington Gardens - The real West Country fudge Experience – lots of homemade fudge to try…
Scoop & Crumb, 5 East Street - Scrumptious ice cream parlour - with an amazing choice of home made ice cream and lots of toppings to choose from.
ShakeAway, Bond Street - With 160+ yummy milkshakes to choose from, you’ll be spoilt for choice!

Breeze up to the Downs
Hop on a bus to some of the areas finest countryside, with the Downs such a short distance away, you’re minutes away from Devil’s Dyke, Ditchling Beacon and Stanmer Park.  You can also hire a bike and explore the views over Sussex and the sea – the bridleways and byways on the South Downs can be used freely by cyclists – it’s easy to hire a bike too…

Take a stroll in Stanmer Park
Roam around the woodland or join in a guided walk to Rocky Clump.  Stanmer Park was named one of Britain’s Top 10 Walks by the independent newspaper
